The defense attorney for one of Donald Trump’s co-defendants in the Georgia racketeering case, Ashleigh Merchant, has been subpoenaed to appear before a Georgia state Senate committee investigating Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Merchant made initial allegations of an improper relationship between Willis and the lead prosecutor in the case against Trump.
The committee plans to issue subpoenas and take depositions as part of their probe into alleged misconduct by Willis.
Merchant is the first person to be subpoenaed as the committee examines information provided by unnamed whistleblowers.
