Adele has announced the postponement of the remaining shows of her Las Vegas residency due to health issues.
In an Instagram post, the singer revealed she had been struggling with her health since the end of her previous leg of shows and throughout her break, and was now sick again which had “taken a toll” on her vocal cords.
Adele posted, “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency.”
“I was sick at the end of my last leg and all the way through my break,” the singer explained.
“I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice,” she continued.
On doctor’s orders to rest her voice and save her vocal cords, the remaining 10 shows scheduled from March 1-30 have been postponed to later dates.
Adele apologized for the inconvenience in her post, saying she would miss her fans.
“And so on doctor’s orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly,” lamented the singer.
She captioned her post, writing, “I love you, I’ll miss you like mad and I’m sorry for the inconvenience x.”
