On The View, Whoopi Goldberg criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to take up former President Donald Trump’s special master case, arguing it appeared to show favoritism toward Trump.
Goldberg said it was a “bad look” for the Court to intervene after two lower courts had already ruled against Trump on the issue of executive privilege claims over documents seized in the Mar-a-Lago search.
“He gets due process of law just like all of us,” former federal prosecutor and cohost Sunny Hostin said.

“I think that’s maybe why they took it,” she said.
Goldberg felt the Court should have simply let those lower court rulings stand instead of taking the case, as there was “no reason” for the highest court to get involved.
“I think it’s a bad … it’s a … it’s a bad look for them,” Goldberg said. “It’s a very, very … to have taken this. Because this – you know — in some of their other rulings, which I’ve wondered about, you know, people say ‘Well, we don’t want it to look like we’re showing favoritism, so we’re looking at this in a very deep way.’ And suddenly, now, it doesn’t feel like they’re looking at it in a deep way.”
“There is no reason for them to actually take this case,” she added.
“The two lower courts said, ‘Listen, this is what it is,’” Goldberg said, adding, “And so if they were to turn against what the two lower courts thought, I think it’s very bad for them.”
Goldberg’s comments came amid discussion among some of the co-hosts that the Court may be aiming to help Trump by ruling in a way that leaves little time before the election for prosecution based on the seized documents.
