Polls show Trump with an advantage over Biden in potential 2024 matchups. A new Emerson College poll found 45% support Trump compared to 44% for Biden, with 11% undecided.
Trump also leads other potential Democratic candidates like Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer.
Fox News’ Jesse Watters asked Vivek Ramaswamy, “Which party, the Republican or Democratic Party, is more united right now?”
Ramaswamy said, “Undoubtedly, it is the Republican Party. Even beyond that, we have a country that is united even outside the traditional Republican Party. America first includes all Americans. I have traveled to inner cities, I was just in Michigan. From autoworkers to the inner city, people in rural communities to suburban, if you ever think Americans have their heads stuck in the sand.”
“If they don’t notice you have a southern border right now, that we have a way to wave of crime, that interest rates have gone up but wages remain flat. I think a lot of this left-wing media has themselves in a delusion to think that black Americans or Americans of any skin color haven’t noticed what has actually happened in their life right now,” said Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy said, “So I think we could be on track, Jesse, for a unifying landslide Reagan 1980, 1984-style election. If we make this as a party about what we actually stand for, restore the rule of law, seal the southern border, Mr. Merritt to economic growth in this country, success is unifying, and I think that is our message and I think we are going to be very successful, and the Democrats are going to be licking their wounds if we stay on message.”
A plurality of voters, 45%, anticipate Trump will win the next presidency compared to 42% for Biden.
An Emerson College Poll reported, “Trump’s slim edge grows by one point when the field widens to include third-party candidates. He leads the pack with 40 percent, followed by Biden at 38 percent and independent candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. at seven percent. From there, Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent candidate Cornel West tie at one percent, with another thirteen percent undecided.”
Separate polls found 40% thought Trump’s presidency was better than expected compared to just 14% for Biden.
Independents in particular were much more critical of Biden, with 52% saying his term has been worse than anticipated.
Looking to 2024, border security and the economy are top voter concerns, while Biden critics point to his age and mental acuity.
The polls suggest Trump is well positioned for a potential reelection bid compared to Biden or other Democrats.
