Drag queen RuPaul has revealed plans to build a fortified compound with his husband in Wyoming, expressing fears about the potential for civil war in the U.S.
RuPaul said, “I’m fearing the absolute worst.”
“We are moments away from [expletive] civil war. All the signs are there,” said RuPaul.

RuPaul added, “I wouldn’t call it a bunker. It’s a lot of concrete and a lot of things.”
RuPaul cited signs of growing political tensions and said the compound is being constructed on his husband’s large ranch property in Wyoming with concrete and other materials to withstand calamity.
During the interview, RuPaul discussed his views on gender as a social construct and faced some criticism for past comments, including questioning transgender contestants on his show and suggesting fracking occurred on the Wyoming property.
“Gender is a concept that we come up with, in our minds and our egos,” said RuPaul.
RuPaul said, “My genitals are male. But I can be whatever I can. I feel I’m everything. You are everything. You are male, female. Sometimes I feel more male than others.”
While the interview avoided discussion of drag events for children, RuPaul has previously condemned laws banning such programs, likening drag queens to activists on the front lines of the LGBTQ movement.
