Sen. Ted Cruz accused Biden and Democrats of being willing to accept harm from increased illegal immigration and crime at the border in order to gain future Democratic voters.

Sen. Cruz said the risk of a terrorist attack crossing the border is higher than after 9/11.

Sen. Cruz said, “They support the open borders we have. The 10.6 million immigrants who have crossed under Joe Biden, Democrats, and the media to view them as future Democrat voters.”

“If people have to die, if children have to be assaulted and women have to be, they are willing to accept that as collateral damage,” said Cruz.

Cruz said, “The odds of a major terrorist attack in America today are greater than they have been at any point since September 11th, 2001. Tomorrow, I am going to be on the border with President Trump. I am going to be on Sean Hannity’s show with the president on the border and highlighting this invasion that is happening.”

“Every time I am on the border, when I talk to Border Patrol agents [and] they tell me they are concerned about Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists crossing the border, crossing over and trying to commit another mass murder like October 7th,” he continued.

He and Trump visited the border as illegal crossings have surged under Biden, with over 7 million crossings in his first three years.

Biden also visited the border amid criticism his policies caused the crisis.

Karoline Leavitt, a Trump spokeswoman said, “Crooked Joe Biden has had three years to visit the border and fix the crisis he created.”

Leavitt said, “Now Biden’s handlers are sending him there on the same day as President Trump’s publicly reported trip, not because they actually want to solve the problem, but because they know Biden is losing terribly.”

The Border Patrol Union criticized Biden’s visit as too little too late and politically motivated, saying he would revert to open border policies if reelected.

They said border security should not be political but about national safety.

The Border Patrol’s union said, “There would be no point in visiting the border now.”

The union said, “But even if he were to put the proper policies in place at this late hour, he’d be doing it only to try to save his Presidency. And self-serving actions when time is winding down should always give Americans pause. Common sense dictates that as a lame duck, he’d revert to his open border policies if re-elected.”

The organization added, “Biden is going to the border now solely to try to save himself. Border security should never be about politics, it should always be about the safety and security of this great nation and the American people.”

Cruz and Republicans argue Biden eliminated Trump policies that effectively curbed illegal immigration.
