The White House press secretary had no answer for why the leader of the Border Patrol union was not invited to President Biden’s upcoming border visit, while he had received an invitation from Donald Trump.

When asked, the press secretary said more details would be shared later about who would join Biden.

Karine Jean-Pierre said, “So look, I will have more to share on what Thursday’s gonna look like. We’ll have more to share on who’s going to be joining the president.”

She noted the union head endorsed increased border funding but has remained a Biden critic, calling for the DHS secretary’s impeachment and arguing Biden only wants a photo op as the election nears.

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said on Fox News that Biden could end the migrant crisis now if he wanted, using existing powers, but his interest seems self-serving for reelection.

Judd said, “He had three years to do what he needed to do to secure the border. He had three years to put policies in place.”

He continued, “Now we’re only eight months from an election and now it looks like he’s interested, and he’s only interested in it because it’s self-serving and he wants to save himself.”

He added, “But the truth of the matter is, yes, he could stop this flow tomorrow.”

As for Trump inviting the union head when he visits the border, the press secretary declined to comment on that and said more details would be shared closer to Thursday’s visits.

Jean-Pierre said, “I can’t speak to him being with the former president in Texas, but that’s for him, obviously, to speak to, and we’ll certainly we’ll have more as we get closer to Thursday.”
