Taylor Swift’s representative responded to allegations of an altercation between her father, Scott Swift, and a paparazzo in Sydney, Australia while she was on tour.
A spokesperson for Swift said, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor [Swift], grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”
“Police have been told a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2.30am (Tuesday 27 Feb. 2024), before leaving the location,” reported the North Shore Police.

“The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command,” the statement continued.
The North Shore Police stated, “The man did not require medical treatment.”
A police statement confirmed a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old photographer in the early hours, who said Scott Swift “charged” at him as he was taking pictures of Taylor emerging from a boat with security guards blocking cameras with umbrellas.
The photographer claimed Scott Swift was the alleged attacker, though the police did not confirm those involved.
Photographer Ben McDonald claimed, “She [Taylor] got off the boat, she walked towards security guards who were shoving umbrellas in our faces, and then he charged.”
McDonald claimed that he “originally thought it was a security guard and was shocked when he realised the alleged attacker was the pop star’s dad.”
He added, “In 23 years of taking pictures, I have never seen anything like it.”

Scott Swift has been part of Taylor’s tour in Australia, seen handing out food to fans.
