President Joe Biden, 81, joked about looking “too young” after his annual physical, addressing concerns about his health and fitness for office.
Following a routine check-up at Walter Reed Medical Center, he was declared “fit for duty” by White House physician Kevin C. O’Connor.
“They think I look too young,” Biden said.
Biden’s health has been a topic of discussion, with questions raised about his cognitive abilities.
Biden added that “everything’s great” in regards to his health and said, “There is nothing different than last year.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was evasive when questioned about Biden’s health and the possibility of a cognitive test.
“The president said that they thought that he was too young,” Jean-Pierre said. “You heard from the president, he talked about this when he was asked.”
Recent media coverage highlighted concerns about Biden’s age and mental state, referencing a report by Justice Department special counsel Robert Hur on memory issues.
