New York City Councilman Robert Holden reacted to news that President Biden is considering stricter border policies.
While discussing immigration and crime issues, Holden stated that Biden needs to “close” the border or at minimum get control of it.
He said the Remain in Mexico policy from the Trump administration “was the best solution.”
The policy required asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their immigration hearings rather than entering the US.
Holden advocated stopping the flow of migrants and not allowing those who don’t qualify for asylum into the United States.
Holden said, “The President has to close or at least get this — get a rein on the southern border. Let’s stop the flow. Let’s — again, I think Remain in Mexico was the best solution. If you don’t qualify for asylum, you’re not allowed in the United States.”
