Leftist blogger Timony Burke was arrested and charged with 14 federal crimes related to allegedly hacking into Fox News systems and leaking unaired footage of Tucker Carlson interviews.

The indictment accused Burke of illegally accessing protected computers, searching for and stealing desirable electronic files and information, including unaired footage of a Kanye West interview containing anti-Semitic remarks and other unaired Carlson footage that was leaked to Media Matters.

According to the indictment, Burke “played multiple roles in the conspiracy, including utilizing compromised credentials to gain unauthorized access to protected computers, scouring those protected computers for electronic items and information, obtaining and stealing electronic items and information deemed desirable, organizing and exploiting some of those electronic items and information, and intercepting and disclosing the contents of wire, oral, and/or electronic video communications.”

Burke was charged with conspiracy, unauthorized computer access, illegal interception of communications, and disclosure of illegally intercepted communications.

The FBI had raided Burke’s home in May 2023. Burke’s attorney denied the charges, claiming it was “just good investigative journalism.”

Burke faces accusations of playing multiple roles in the alleged conspiracy.

Burke’s attorney, Michael Maddux, said, “It’s not hacking, it’s just good investigative journalism.”

“We obviously emphatically deny these charges and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to defend him and exonerate him,” explained the attorney.
