An escaped killer, Miguel Angel Hernandez Moreno, who entered the U.S. illegally and was hiding in New Jersey, has been captured and deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
He fled Colombia in 2017, escaped prison, and was accused of making terroristic threats.
“Time and again we see fugitives fleeing from justice in their home countries and illegally crossing into the U.S.,” ERO Philadelphia Field Office Director Cammilla Wamsley said.
“The officers of ERO Philadelphia work tirelessly to apprehend and remove these wanted criminals who pose a threat to the American public.”
Despite local authorities releasing him before ICE could intervene, he was eventually captured in New York City and deported.
This incident follows the recent Georgia murder of nursing student Laken Riley by a Venezuelan man who entered the U.S. illegally in 2022.
