President Biden will visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday to blame Republicans for his immigration policies.
He will meet with border agents and call for bipartisan legislation despite blocking GOP bills.
“Biden will travel to Brownsville, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, an area that often sees large numbers of border crossings,” reported the Associated Press.
“He will meet with border agents and discuss the need for bipartisan legislation,” the outlet continued.
Biden said on February 7, “I’ll be taking this issue to the country … Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends.”
Since 2021, Biden’s pro-migration border chief Mayorkas has admitted over 6.2 million migrants, exceeding two migrants for every US birth.
This unpopular policy burdens taxpayers, cuts wages, enriches employers, and pushes up housing costs.
It has also contributed to a rise in homelessness – over 2,000 homeless Americans died in LA in 2023.
Gallup found Biden’s approval on immigration, the top reason for disapproval, has hit a new low of 28%.
Gallup reported, “A recent Gallup poll found that the immigration issue, specifically, is the top reason those who disapprove of Biden give for why they evaluate his performance negatively.”
His overall approval is just 38%, near his record low, jeopardizing reelection chances given most incumbents need 50% approval.
