Elizabeth Francis, a 114-year-old from Houston, Texas, is now the oldest living American, as confirmed by LongeviQuest.

She attributes her longevity to the blessings of the good Lord.

“It’s not my secret. It’s the good Lord’s blessing. I just thank God I’m here,” she said.

“Try to do the best thing you can to everybody,” she said. “Love everybody.”

Francis has lived through significant historical events and values kindness and love.

Her family has a history of long life, with her sister living to 106.

“She tried to do things to stay healthy,” her granddaughter Ethel Harrison said. “Her life basically was pretty simple. She didn’t go out to parties and stuff like that. She was more of a homebody. She would go to church.”

“It’s just amazing,” she added. “We’re so grateful that she’s still here.”

Despite being bedridden, Francis remains lively and credits socializing, walks, and home-cooked meals for her thriving.

Her advice for a long life is to use the gifts given by the good Lord and to speak your mind without holding back.
