Lara Trump recently said that before bed every night, she and Eric Trump have their children say prayers and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
While some Trump supporters supported this patriotic tradition, many social media users criticized and ridiculed Lara’s claim.
Skeptics said they doubted the nightly ritual actually occurs, and that mentioning such a practice to friends or on a date would be a strange thing to bring up.
“That’s not the flex that she thinks it is. Imagine mentioning to friends or on a first date that you used to say the pledge of allegiance before going to sleep when you were young,” one X user wrote.
“lol, no they don’t,” another wrote.
“First of all, I seriously doubt it. Secondly, shouldn’t a good “christian” family be saying prayers before bed?? Hmmmm…” they added.
Others questioned why a Christian family wouldn’t just say prayers before bed without including the Pledge of Allegiance.
As a result, Lara has faced a new wave of online mockery and roasts for her comments about her family’s supposed bedtime routine.
Lara and Eric have two young children together.
