Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration official and current host on “The View,” posted a thread on Twitter asserting that many lifelong Republicans will not support Trump in 2024 due to opposition to him.
However, her analysis appears overly optimistic given recent polls showing Trump leading Biden nationally and in key swing states.
While Griffin acknowledged Trump’s strength in the electoral college, her prediction of the largest popular vote loss in modern history seems premature without recognizing Trump’s enduring base and history of defying expectations.
Thread 🧵:
I grew up in the conservative movement & spent my career in GOP politics. I’ve NEVER known of so many lifelong Republicans who under no circumstances will support Trump.
These are people who worked for GOP lawmakers, at Right of Center think tanks, & PACs

Other surveys indicate Trump is currently outpacing Biden in hypothetical matchups in Arizona and Nevada.
