Recent polls show former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in some key 2024 swing states.
Surveys from Emerson College found Trump ahead of Biden by 6 points in Georgia and 3 points in North Carolina.
A USA Today poll found Trump with a 4 point lead over Biden in Michigan, within the margin of error.
The polls suggest Trump has gained an edge over Biden in these crucial swing states, though some races are close.
Younger voters under 30 supported Biden more, while those over 50 backed Trump.
“A majority of voters under 30 break for President Biden over Trump, 53% to 35%, along with a plurality of voters in their 30s, 47% to 40%. Voters in their 40s are evenly split: 45% support each candidate. Voters over 50 support Trump over Biden, 52% to 40%. In addition, independent voters in North Carolina break for Trump over Biden, 43% to 40%,” Emerson College Polling executive director Spencer Kimball said.
Independent voters in North Carolina favored Trump as well.
The results coincide with other polls showing Trump competitive or leading in other swing states like Nevada, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Wisconsin.
However, the races are still very early and close, with some within the polls’ margins of error.
