The FBI is reportedly investigating allegations against the mayor of Dolton, Illinois, Tiffany Henyard.
Henyard had met with President Biden in January and posted about the meeting on social media.
Henyard draws a combined $300,000 salary from being mayor and township supervisor, which some see as excessive given the town’s median income of $24,000.
A business owner in Dolton claims the village refused to renew his license in retaliation for not donating to an event sponsored by Henyard.
He and five others have spoken to the FBI about Henyard’s conduct.
There are also allegations against Henyard for shutting down businesses that didn’t donate to her and using funds improperly.
Furthermore, Henyard faced criticism for hiring a registered child sex offender to a code enforcement job that involves inspecting homes.
