Braxton Berrios, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the upcoming NFL offseason.
Despite some confusion surrounding his future with the team following a viral conversation on his girlfriend’s podcast, Berrios clarified that he will be entering free agency as his one-year contract with the Dolphins is ending.
“Also my post, after every season – like everybody does it – you just basically do a recap of the season post,” Berrios said.

He mentioned the possibility of returning to the Dolphins or exploring opportunities elsewhere.
Berrios emphasized that his recent social media post was simply a season-recap post and not an indication of his departure from the team.
“So, I do it every year. And I guess this one, because of whatever, everybody’s like, ‘Oh my god. He’s done. He’s not coming back.’ … So, I signed a 1-year deal and, technically, this coming March, technically, I’ll be a free agent,” he said.

“But the fact of the matter is, all that, the fact is not ‘dropped.’ Entering free agency. So is, 20% of NFL players. It’s just a part of how it goes when your contract is up with that team.”
“There was nothing else to that,” he said, “but everyone else took it and ran with it.”
