Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow and ally of Donald Trump, has been ordered to pay $5 million to a man who disproved Lindell’s false claims of election fraud in 2020.
Lindell had hosted a “Prove Mike Wrong Challenge” offering the payment to anyone who could disprove his assertions of Chinese interference.
Robert Zeidman submitted a report proving Lindell’s claims were false.
An arbitration tribunal initially ruled Lindell must pay, and upheld that decision upon Lindell’s challenge.
Zeidman and his lawyer say they are pleased with the ruling, which gives them power to begin collection efforts if Lindell does not promptly pay.
Zeidman said, “They clearly saw this as I did — that the data we were given at the symposium was not at all what Mr. Lindell said it was.”
“The truth is finally out there,” he exclaimed.
Zeidman’s attorney, Brian Glasser, said, “We are thrilled by this decision and look forward to beginning collection efforts if payment is not promptly forthcoming,”
The attorney added, “This decision gives us that collection power.”
Lindell has been a vocal supporter of Trump and spreader of conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.
He is also being sued by Dominion for $1.3 billion over claims about their voting machines.
