Donald Trump held a rally in Michigan where he repeated many of his familiar falsehoods, grievances, and attacks on political opponents.
While some said his rhetoric has gotten more extreme, focusing on terms like “vermin” and “poisoning” immigrants’ blood, his speech contained the same bigotry, lies, and disrespect for democratic norms as past rallies.
His supporters constantly booed and cursed in response.
Trump said, “These are Democrats that definitely hate me. They hate you too, I have to tell you.”
“We’re all in this together,” he continued.
Trump spent much time complaining about his legal troubles, portraying them as an attack on his supporters rather than his own wrongdoings.
He continued denying the 2020 election results and blaming Biden for issues like crime and immigration.
“Every time the radical-left Democrats, Marxists, Communists and fascists indict me, I consider it a great badge of honor. I am being indicted for you. Never forget,” added the former president.
Trump insisted, “You can stop [crime] in one day, in one hour, if you got really nasty and really tough.”
He added, “The great capital, Washington, D.C., is under siege. I will always defend Medicare and Social Security — unlike Birdbrain.”
