Hananya Ben Shimon, an Israeli reservist fresh from military service in Gaza, intervened in a deadly attack near Jerusalem, shooting and killing one of three Palestinian terrorists who had opened fire on civilians stuck in traffic.
One person was killed, and several others were injured in the attack.
Ben Shimon, a tank unit member, was armed on his way to work as a guard for tourists.

His successful intervention shed light on the effectiveness of arming civilians to thwart terror attacks, as per National security minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
