Marvel’s latest film “Madame Web” had a disappointing opening weekend, grossing only $15.3 million.

This marked another stumble for the studio’s cinematic universe expansion efforts and “woke” agenda.

Critics and audiences both panned the film, which received a 13% Rotten Tomatoes score, lower even than Sony’s previous flop “Morbius.”

The C+ CinemaScore rating suggests the film’s box office prospects are dim.

The poor performance has further exposed the risks of studios “going woke” and introducing new characters without first building proper audience interest and demand.

Critics noted that Marvel and Sony may need to rethink their strategy for spinning off new films from the existing cinematic universe.
