The NFL suspended Jimmy Garoppolo, quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, for the first two games of the 2024 season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy by using a prescribed medication without a valid exemption.
Garoppolo is not appealing the suspension.
“The policy violation is related to him using a prescribed medication without having a valid Therapeutic Use Exemption, per sources,” Adam Schefter wrote.

The Raiders are expected to release Garoppolo before he earns an $11.25 million roster bonus in March.
This is because the team has a new head coach and general manager since Garoppolo signed last season.
While the suspension will follow Garoppolo to any new team, the Raiders are likely to draft a quarterback as they currently only have two backups on the roster.
Garoppolo previously played for the Patriots and 49ers, taking the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2019 and the NFC Championship in 2021 before joining the Raiders last season.
