Georgia Governor Brian Kemp predicted that former President Trump’s ongoing legal challenges will likely be resolved before the 2022 midterm elections.

When asked if he thought the cases should be decided prior to the vote, Kemp said most voters probably feel the same way and that elected leaders should exemplify adherence to laws and the constitution.

“Well, listen, I think most voters probably feel the same way I do,” Kemp said. “I mean, we’re a country that was built on laws and the Constitution. And it is up to us, really as elected leaders, to be the ones that exemplify that in a lot of ways. So we’ll see where the process plays out. I think probably they will be ruled on before the election.”

He stated the legal processes will “probably” conclude before the election.

Trump is currently facing criminal charges in four separate cases related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

When asked about Trump’s immunity claims, Kemp said that in his view, no one is above the law, regardless of political affiliation.

“Well, listen, I don’t think anybody’s above the law, you know, Democrat, Republican, independent, myself or anybody else. So that’s my personal opinion,” he said.
