GOP lawmakers accused James Biden of contradicting himself during testimony about his brother’s business dealings.
Rep. Matt Gaetz said, “Let me say this. So there are a lot of things that Mr. Biden is saying that are directly contradicted by documents.”
Biden initially denied involvement but later changed his story when shown a signed agreement.
James Biden said, “I have had a 50-year career in a variety of business ventures. Joe Biden has never had any involvement or any direct or indirect financial interest in those activities. None.”
Lawmakers found discrepancies in his responses during the eight-hour interview.
Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan said, “It doesn’t change the fundamental facts.”
The impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s family’s finances continues despite recent setbacks in the investigation.
