Alex Soros, head of the Open Society Foundations and son of billionaire mega-donor George Soros, met with Ukraine’s foreign minister and declared the West must not abandon Ukraine.
Soros posted that the West “must not abandon Ukraine.”
He reiterated, “We must not abandon Ukraine.”
This comes as House Republicans question further US aid due to corruption concerns, battlefield failures, and lack of White House end goals.
According to The Soros Network, Renaissance Foundation (IRF) has been the “largest independent funder of Ukraine’s vibrant array of civil society and citizen’s groups for more than three decades.”
Soros and his father have long supported Ukraine, investing over $230 million through their foundations since 1990 to back civil society groups.
Soros remains heavily involved, recently donating $1 million to Ukraine’s first lady’s charity.
Going forward, Soros says stopping Trump or other “MAGA” Republicans from winning the presidency is a top priority, claiming it could undermine European unity and progress on Ukraine.
More broadly, the Soros network has used its estimated $25 billion fortune to financially back numerous left-wing causes and Democratic politicians around the world.
Mark Leonard, the director of the European Council on Foreign Relations, claimed Alex Soros was “in daily contact with the Soros Foundation in Ukraine, talking to different governments about their policy towards Ukraine.”
Between 2020-2022, the Open Society Foundations and George Soros personally donated around half a billion dollars in the US, mostly to partisan political groups aligned with Democrats.
CNBC reported that donations were mostly “steered through dark money nonprofit groups and going largely toward political causes aligned with the Democratic Party.”
