During an evidentiary hearing over her role in prosecuting Donald Trump for election interference, Fulton County DA Fani Willis became angry and yelled at a defense attorney while on the witness stand, accusing them of lying.
Judge Scott McAfee called a recess to allow Willis to calm down, warning her testimony could be struck if she had further outbursts.
“Let’s be clear, because you’ve lied,” Willis yelled.

“It is a lie! It is a lie!”
“You’ve been intrusive into people’s lives,” she said.
“You think I’m on trial. I’m not on trial no matter how hard you try to put me on trial,” Willis said.
Willis is facing possible disqualification from the case due to allegations from Trump co-defendant Michael Roman of an improper romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade prior to his hiring.
While Willis confirmed a past relationship, she denies any impropriety.
An earlier witness, however, testified Willis and Wade’s relationship began in 2019 before his hiring.
“I think it’s clear that disqualification can occur if evidence is produced demonstrating an actual conflict or the appearance of one, and the filings submitted on this issue so far have been presented a conflict in the evidence that cannot be resolved,” McAfee said.
McAfee is weighing whether Willis and Wade have an appearance of a conflict requiring their removal, which would leave the case in the hands of another prosecutor.
