At a recent White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Republicans who oppose a Biden administration-backed bill on foreign aid and border security of “siding with Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Tehran,” implying they were committing treason.
The bill provides funding for the war in Ukraine, Israel, and Palestinian aid but has stalled in the House due to Republican concerns it does not adequately address border security or the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
While Biden campaigned on unifying the country, his administration is following the example of Obama in accusing domestic political opponents of aiding America’s enemies like Iran.
However, some argue Biden’s own policies, such as nuclear negotiations and payments to Iran, have enabled the country by not taking stronger action against its proxies.
