A school principal was fired in Oklahoma after facing backlash and threats after it was revealed he also performed as a drag queen.
Murnan faced child pornography charges, which were dismissed over 20 years ago.
The Western Heights School District still hired Murnan despite local reports showing Murnan allegedly viewed “pornographic images of children under the age of 18” while teaching fifth grade at another Oklahoma elementary school, according to Fox 25.

Despite support for his dual careers for 26 years, criticism of Murnan intensified when he became principal.
Criticism from conservative groups and social media led to threats and administrative actions, ultimately resulting in his resignation.
“It’s not like I’m quiet about it,” Murnan said about his controversial lifestyle. “I’m very open with who I am. I don’t hide who I am.”
Murnan applied to become a church minister in 2014, according to the Christian Post.
The principal highlighted the importance of acceptance and condemned the hate and judgment faced by the LGBTQ community.
