Donald Trump criticized Republican House candidate Mazi Melesa Pilip for losing a special election, saying her lack of loyalty to him cost her the win.

Trump said Pilip should have easily won if she endorsed him, but instead tried to “straddle the fence.”

Trump wrote, “Just watched this very foolish woman, Mazi Melesa Pilip, running in a race where she didn’t endorse me and tried to ‘straddle the fence,’ when she would have easily WON if she understood anything about MODERN DAY politics in America.”

He wrote in all caps that the MAGA base stayed home unhappy unless respected.

Trump said Democrat Tom Suozzi, who won, could be beaten in November if a loyal “real candidate” runs.

“MAGA, which is most of the Republican Party, stayed home – and it always will, unless it is treated with the respect that it deserves. I stayed out of the race, ‘I want to be loved!’ Give us a real candidate in the district for November. Suozzi, I know him well, can be easily beaten!” continued the former president.

Suozzi’s victory shrunk the GOP’s House advantage as they aim to retake control, though Biden won the district in 2020 while trailing Trump in current polls ahead of their expected 2024 rematch.
