Former GOP Congressman George Santos tore into his party after a Democrat won his old New York House seat in a special election triggered by Santos’ expulsion from Congress.
Santos was expelled and indicted on fraud charges last year.
Democrat Tom Suozzi reclaimed the seat, narrowing the GOP’s already razor-thin House majority.
Santos blamed his former colleagues and the Nassau County GOP for the loss in a series of angry messages, saying their focus on removing him arbitrarily rather than policy cost them $10 million and votes.
Santos reportedly texted the New York GOP, “I hope you guys are happy with this dismal performance and the 10 million dollars your futile Bull S— cost the party.”
“I look very much forward to seeing most of you lose due to your absolute hate filled campaign to remove me from Congress arbitrarily,” he continued.
“Now go tell the Republicans Base [sic] what you f—— idiots did and good luck raising money next quarter,” he concluded.
Santos previously posted, “To my former colleagues in the house GOP please make these idiots pay you guys $10million back.”
“These RINO’s are the most effective democrats operatives in the nation!” he exclaimed.
He said he flipped the district as a political outsider and activist support, while the “establishment” candidate disrespected the base.
“I FLIPPED a 23 year Blue seat with the help of grassroots activists and by activating the base with retail politics,” declared the former lawmaker.
“Hey @NassauNYGOP money does not buy votes, it’s respecting the wishes of the base that wins votes. #NY3 is #MAGA country and since MAGA was disrespected, MAGA stayed home!” he continued.
Former President Trump echoed Santos, slamming the GOP candidate and saying the base stayed home without proper respect and endorsement of his 2024 campaign.
Trump wrote, “[S]he would have easily WON if she understood anything about MODERN DAY politics in America.”
“MAGA, WHICH IS MOST OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, STAYED HOME – AND IT ALWAYS WILL, UNLESS IT IS TREATED WITH THE RESPECT THAT IT DESERVES,” continued the former president.
“I WANT TO BE LOVED” he later confessed.
