A former senior FBI counterintelligence official, Charles McGonigal, has been sentenced to an additional 28 months in prison.

McGonigal was caught receiving $225,000 in cash from an individual with ties to the Albanian government while supervising counterintelligence investigations.

This is in addition to his previous 50-month sentence for working for a Russian oligarch.
