Donald Trump Jr. promoted a conspiracy theory on social media questioning the validity of reports about a serious national security threat related to Russia putting a nuclear weapon in space.
This came after House Intelligence chair Mike Turner called on Biden to declassify information about the threat.
Trump Jr. implied it was leaked to undermine support for further Ukraine aid.

Trump Jr. wrote, “Does anyone really believe that there is a serious Russian threat that magically leaks about 30 seconds after the Speaker said they’re not going to take up funding another $60 billion in Ukraine?”
“Is anyone stupid enough to buy this at this point? Textbook deep state propaganda!” exclaimed the former president’s son.
Rep. Lauren Boebert agreed with the conspiracy theory. However, critics noted the information was leaked by a Republican, Rep. Turner, not “the deep state.”
Rep. Lauren Boebert commented, “Funny thing, ain’t it?”
They accused Trump Jr. and Boebert of entertaining unfounded claims for political reasons rather than national security concerns.
As the threat was disclosed by a GOP member, many argued it was irresponsible and misguided to dismiss the reports and politicize a serious security issue in this way.
