Prince Harry opened up about visiting his father King Charles III in the UK after learning of his cancer diagnosis.
Harry said the family reunifying during difficult health situations is important, and that he was grateful to see his father.
Harry said, “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him… spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
“Throughout all the families, I see on a day-to-day basis, again the strength of the family unit coming together,” continued Harry.
“I have my own family, as we all do. My life and family in California. It is as it is,” he explained.
While focused on his own family in California, Harry plans future UK trips to see relatives.
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry has enjoyed living in the US but American citizenship is not currently a priority.
Harry recently said, “The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly is not something that is a high priority for me right now.”
His UK visit was the first time seeing Charles since the coronation, but he did not meet with Prince William.
With the King undergoing cancer treatment and Kate Middleton recovering from surgery, William is expected to take on additional responsibilities in their absence.
