A poll of San Francisco voters found shifting attitudes toward more conservative policies after years of rising crime, homelessness, and other issues.

Majorities now support increased police funding/surveillance, drug testing for welfare, and tax incentives for businesses amid vacant downtown streets.

However, experts have argued that the city will not truly change due to an entrenched far-left voter base, and that urban problems are ultimately consequences of how residents vote rather than outsiders’ concern.

While polls show openness to new solutions, enacting meaningful Republican-backed reforms remains unlikely.
