Testimony in a Georgia hearing revealed that the Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis had been in a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade before hiring him in 2021 to investigate Donald Trump for election interference.
A former associate of Willis testified that Willis and Wade had been involved from 2019 to at least 2022.
Wade acknowledged under oath that a “personal relationship” developed between himself and Willis in 2022 in addition to their work relationship.

He recalled traveling with Willis in 2022 and 2023 but not 2021 and said Willis reimbursed him in cash for joint vacations he paid for on his business card.
The defense argues the relationship shows bias and improper financial gain from the prosecution.
Willis admits the relationship but denies conflict of interest.
The revelation could impact the high-profile case against Trump and his allies, who are seeking dismissal and claim political motivation by prosecutors.
