According to testimony in a Georgia courtroom, the prosecutor leading the election interference case against Donald Trump had an improper romantic relationship with a fellow prosecutor on the case.
Nathan Wade testified that he and prosecutor Fani Willis went on expensive vacations together in 2022, with Wade initially paying using his business credit card before Willis reimbursed him in cash.
“Our relationship wasn’t a secret. It was just private,” Wade said.
This appears to confirm accusations by Trump and a codefendant that Willis and Wade maintained an improper relationship and enriched themselves, representing a conflict of interest that could lead to Willis being removed from the case.
Contradicting previous claims, testimony indicated Willis had been in a relationship with Wade since 2019, not just 2022 as both had stated.
