Former President Trump made court appearances in two ongoing legal cases while also campaigning for the 2023 election.
He attended a pretrial hearing in Manhattan for the criminal “hush money” case, calling it election interference.
Trump said, “Instead of being in South Carolina and other states campaigning, I’m stuck here.”
Meanwhile in Georgia, the prosecutor hired by the district attorney for the 2020 election interference investigation against Trump was in the spotlight.
Trump faces numerous criminal and civil trials this year, with jury selection set to begin March 25 in the New York case.
His legal challenges have not deterred his campaigning for the GOP nomination, though some like Nikki Haley say the legal drama will hurt Republicans electorally.
Nikki Haley said, “Donald Trump is in court today. There will be a verdict on another case tomorrow. And he has a trial starting March 25. Meanwhile, he’s spending millions of campaign donations on legal fees. All of this chaos will only lead to more losses for Republicans up and down the ticket.”
Trump wrote, “Republicans just don’t learn, but maybe she was still a Democrat? I have an almost 99% Endorsement Success Rate in Primaries, and a very good number in the General Elections, as well, but just watched this very foolish woman, Mazi Melesa Pilip, running in a race where she didn’t endorse me and tried to ‘straddle the fence,’ when she would have easily WON if she understood anything about MODERN DAY politics in America.”
The former president previously said, “I’ll be here during the day and I’ll be campaigning during the night. Biden should be doing the same thing but he’ll be sleeping.”
