Comedian Michael Rapaport took aim at pro-Palestinian college students during a visit to Israel, criticizing them as ignorant of Israeli history.
While standing at an ancient Judean wine press dating back thousands of years, he berated those who claim Israel was established on Palestinian land, saying the archaeological site proved ancient Jewish ties to the land.
“Alright, this is an ancient Judean wine press. You see that? You see that?” he said.
“You do some Lucy and Ethel [expletive], right? You press the [expletive] wine like ‘I Love Lucy.’ The wine goes down there. Ancient Judean s—,” he said.
“Ancient – thousands of years. You understand me, you dumb [expletive]?” he asked.
“Thousands of years, you see? Ancient Judean wine press. Ancient Judean land,” he said.
Rapaport, a vocal defender of Israel, has been critical of Democratic politicians like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar for their stances.
Though liberal himself, Rapaport’s support for Israel has put him at odds with some in his party and led him to consider voting for Trump in 2024 due to concerns over growing antisemitism.
He urged parents to stop funding colleges that aren’t properly educating students on Israeli history.
“Why am I having to explain this to you, you dumb – especially you college kids? If you’re on a college campus and you don’t know this – If I’m paying for my kids on a college campus and you don’t know this and I know it, and I graduated high school–.”
“Parents, stop wasting your money! They’re not getting educated,” Rapaport said.
