In an interview, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Joe Biden would be better for Russia than Donald Trump, calling Biden more predictable and experienced.
Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine during Biden’s presidency.
“[Biden] is a more experienced, predictable person. He is a politician of the old school. But we will work with any leader of the United States, who is trusted by the American people,” Putin said.

While critics accused Trump of being too friendly towards Russia, Putin said he saw nothing to suggest Biden is cognitively impaired.
“When I met with Biden in Switzerland — it was, indeed, a few years ago, three years — even then there were talks about him being incompetent. I saw nothing of the sort. Yes, he glanced at his notes. Honestly, I glanced at mine too,” Putin said. “There’s nothing to it.”
The White House responded by urging Putin to remain uninvolved in US elections.
“Mr. Putin should stay out of America’s elections,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said.
Putin maintained he has no plans to invade NATO member Poland and start World War III, saying a global war would be against common sense.
Both Biden and Trump adopted tough stances towards Russia, but Putin expressed a preference for Biden as the known quantity compared to Trump’s unpredictability in foreign policy matters.
