In a 2021 all-hands meeting shortly after the January 6th Capitol protests, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the company would begin “taking a stand” on political issues, claiming this was not political.
He referenced January 6th as fundamentally wrong without acknowledging opposing views.
Iger also spoke of increased diversity in films, but seemed more focused on turning Disney into a propaganda outlet for left-wing causes.

Then-CEO Bob Chapek ultimately took the fall for this poor agenda. Chapek was later fired after controversies involving Disney’s political stances.
Since Iger took over again and politicized Disney more, the company has seen business declines and lost trust as a brand safe for children.
