Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admitted that he let his emotions get the better of him during a sideline confrontation with head coach Andy Reid in the Super Bowl.
Video showed Kelce body checking Reid and screaming in his face after coming off the field.
On his podcast, Kelce acknowledged that he “crossed a line” and realized immediately that he had gone too far when Reid lost his balance.

“I can’t get that fired up to the point where I’m bumping coach, and it’s getting him off balance and stuff,” Kelce said.
“When he stumbled I was like, ‘Oh, s—,’ in my head,” Kelce said.
While Kelce said he never doubted Reid’s support as his coach, critics slammed the tight end’s actions as disrespectful and abusive towards Reid.
“I’m not playing for anybody else but Big Red … and I got a certain relationship with him. He’s checked me a few times, and I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this thing, and he can put it on me. I got him.”
Kelce explained that emotions sometimes get away from him but that he only wanted to show Reid how much he wanted to win and that he could “put it on me.”
“We had to get some s— going. Sometimes those emotions just get away from me, man. That’s been the battle of my career,” Kelce said.
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade called Kelce’s behavior “inexcusable” and an XFL coach said such actions would not be tolerated in his league.
“Inexcusable … never at any level do u treat a coach this way!!” Kilmeade said.
“@XFLBattlehawks players try me on the sidelines and see what happens,” St. Louis Battlehawks head coach Andy Becht said.
