Pop-Tarts Inventor William ‘Bill’ Post Dies at 96

William “Bill” Post, the co-creator of Pop-Tarts, has passed away at the age of 96.

Post played a significant role in developing the iconic brand, working with Kellogg’s and Keebler.

“It is at this juncture that Bill is often credited for having ‘invented’ the Pop Tart,” the obituary stated.

Pop-Tarts, now owned by Kellogg’s, offers a wide range of flavors and has become a cultural phenomenon.

Post’s legacy extends beyond breakfast tables, with references in sports and entertainment.

“We are deeply saddened to share the news that William ‘Bill’ Post passed away over the weekend,” the company stated. “He played an important role in co-creating the iconic Pop-Tarts brand and we are grateful to Bill for his legacy and lasting contributions to our company.”

A movie about the creation of Pop-Tarts, involving Jerry Seinfeld, is set to be released on Netflix.

Post is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, following the passing of his wife in 2020.
