Sen. Ted Cruz commented on President Joe Biden’s press conference, citing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s conclusion about Biden’s memory issues.
Hur’s investigation found that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” but did not warrant criminal charges due to concerns about winning a conviction against him based on his portrayal as a sympathetic, elderly man with memory issues.
Cruz highlighted Biden’s press conference, where he displayed memory lapses, including mixing up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico and forgetting details from the special counsel’s report.

Cruz emphasized that the press conference confirmed the concerns raised in the special counsel’s report, characterizing the situation as a political emergency for the Biden administration.
“Biden responded by holding a press conference in which his meandering, rambling answers confirmed everything said in the Special Counsel report, including that one point of the elements of the report that demonstrated why his memory was so failing is it said he could not remember when his son had died,” Cruz said.
“And when Biden is defending that, he points to some rosary beads that he wore, that were given to him and said ‘were given to me by, were given to me by…’ and then he can’t remember, can’t remember what the details are about the rosary beads. That, to put it mildly, is not a good look, when you’re trying to demonstrate that you have a good enough memory to function if you can’t actually remember your response to that attack,” he said.
