Jen Psaki, after leaving her role as White House press secretary, joined NBC News and claimed to be an impartial journalist.

Psaki previously said, “I am not going on television to be a mouthpiece.

She added that she will be, “debunking things, calling out BS.”

However, during a recent appearance on “Meet the Press,” she criticized coverage of a special counsel’s report on President Biden’s mental capacity, suggesting that media focus should have been on Donald Trump’s remarks and legal issues.

Psaki said White House staffers were “absolutely banging your head against the wall at the way that the Thursday [special counsel] report has been covered.”

Special Counsel Robert Hur wrote, “at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,” the report continued.

Psaki said, “I think it’s a close call if you’re sitting in the White House because frankly the media environment has massively changed since that Tim Russert clip of him hosting ‘Meet the Press’ from the Super Bowl.”

“That just would never happen today. They know that,” she continued.

“Any smart reporter — which CBS has plenty — would have asked him about things like Gaza and events in the world, and people are just trying to have chicken wings at this point,” added the former press secretary.

“I mean, if you’re sitting in the White House and on the campaign right now, you are absolutely banging your head against the wall at the way that the Thursday report has been covered, given all of the things that have happened this week, including … the fact that Donald Trump yesterday suggested that Vladimir Putin should have free rein in attacking NATO allies,” explained Psaki.

“And what do we see when we wake up this morning? Wall-to-wall coverage of whether a guy who’s four years older than his opponent is too old to be president,” she explained.

Psaki’s comments have drawn criticism for perceived bias, with some arguing that she is still acting as a mouthpiece for the White House.

The discussion also touches on Trump’s statements regarding NATO and the media’s portrayal of his remarks.

Trump previously said, “NATO was busted until I came along.”

“I said, ‘Everybody’s gonna pay.’ They said, ‘Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?’ I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ They couldn’t believe the answer,” revealed the former president.
