The United States Senate approved a $95 billion foreign aid package, including $61 billion for Ukraine, with bipartisan support.

While most Senate Republicans voted for the funding, House Speaker Mike Johnson has indicated no plans to bring the package to a vote in the House.

The allocation for Ukraine has sparked debate, with some pointing out that the funds could instead be used to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The aid package’s approval would bring the total U.S. taxpayer money sent to Ukraine since 2022 to close to $200 billion, with concerns raised about the significant portion ending up in the hands of defense contractors profiting from foreign intervention.
