Facebook recently introduced a chirping sound while scrolling through posts on iPhones, which has been widely criticized by users.

The feature, intended to make scrolling more engaging, has instead been found distracting and annoying.

Users can disable the sound by following a few simple steps in the app settings.

To disable:
• Open the Facebook app on your iPhone, Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner to open the menu

• Scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy”, Select “Settings”

• Scroll down and find “Media”, Under “Sounds,” toggle off the switch next to “In-App Sounds”

Although the reason behind the feature remains unclear, it seems to have backfired, leading to hopes that Facebook will remove it in a future update.
