The special counsel report on President Biden’s handling of classified information has raised concerns about his fitness for re-election.
Jill Biden, the first lady, has been actively involved in shielding the president from unscripted interactions with the media and has expressed concerns about the toll of the presidency on her husband.
“I saw Joe as V.P. and how tough that was,” Jill said.
“But when I see what he does, when I see the table as you get off that elevator and I see a pile like this every single night with briefing books,” she said, “and I see him reading and writing, it’s a lot.”
She has been influential in hiring staff and shaping political decisions, ensuring events end on time and speeches are kept brief.
Her priority is protecting her husband and family, with her influence felt in both the White House and the Biden campaign.
