Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed during an interview with Tucker Carlson that the United States was responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea, citing motivation and capability.

When pressed for evidence, Putin refused to elaborate, dismissing the need to compete with U.S. propaganda.

The interview also included a lighthearted moment when Putin jokingly accused Carlson of blowing up the pipeline.

The conversation followed the inconclusive report of the Swedish investigation into the blast, raising questions about potential political involvement due to Sweden’s desire to join NATO.

The attack on the pipeline took place on September 26, 2022, and resulted in the destruction of Nord Stream 1 and damage to Nord Stream 2, which had been built to transport natural gas into central Europe.

The pipeline had been a source of controversy due to concerns about Russian influence and corruption in Germany.
